According to reports, Detroit Tigers outfielder Tyler Collins has been designated for assignment and Alex Presley has been called up.

As Chris McCosky noted in the above tweet, if Collins were to clear waivers, then he could be re-signed by the Toledo Mudhens.

In 40 games with the Tigers this season, Collins hit only .200 and did very little in the outfield to prove his worth to the team.

Over the past 20 games, Collins was an abysmal 5-for-61 with 30 strikeouts.

Presley, who is a 31-year-old left-handed hitting outfielder, has only five plate appearances with the Tigers this season, picking up one hit. In 40 games in Toledo, he hit only .213 with two home runs.

The Tigers will look to build off of yesterday’s win in the second game of a doubleheader when they square off against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon.
