On Saturday, the Detroit Tigers were in Minnesota to take on the Twins with the hopes of moving to 9-5 on the season. Unfortunately, with the Tigers trailing 4-2, shortstop Jordy Mercer injured his quad or hamstring while rounding first base after hitting a pitch off the left field fence.

Mercer was forced to leave the game and was replaced by Gordon Beckham.
