Apparently winning a World Series with the Houston Astros will only be the second most important thing that former Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander does this week.
According to a report from Brad Galli of WXYZ Detroit, Verlander will not be heading back to Houston with his teammates for the World Series Parade but will instead pack his bags and head to Italy, where he will marry his fiancee, Kate Upton.

“The wedding will come just days after Verlander won his first World Series with the Houston Astros. That means Verlander will miss the Astros’ world series parade in Houston.
The couple has been dating for years and got engaged in May 2016. Upton was first spotted with the engagement ring on the red carpet of the MET Gala.”
It’s safe to say that this is a week that Justin Verlander will never forget.

The Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game 7 of the World Series and supporters of the Astros are not the only ones who are going to bed happy following the big win.

When Verlander was traded to the Astros just before the Major League Baseball trade deadline, there was a period of mourning for Tigers fans. But after the loss had time to sink in, it was rather easy for many Tigers fans to start rooting for JV to do well with his new team, almost like he was still representing the Old English D.
