The Lions have opted to keep another of their own free agents, signing safety Tavon Wilson to a two year pact.

As reported by Ian Rapoport, Wilson can earn up to $8 million under his new pact.
After suffering a shoulder injury during training camp last year, and re-aggravating the injury twice throughout the season, Wilson was still able to finish the season with 42 tackles, two sacks, and an interception in 10 games. He finished the year on injured reserve after the final blow to his season was dealt on Thanksgiving.
Wilson originally found his way to Detroit through free agency before the 2016 season, when he signed a two year deal worth $2.2 million. Over those two years in the Motor City, Wilson has compiled a total of 114 tackles, three sacks, and three interceptions. He has also forced a fumble, and recovered two other fumbles since suiting up with the Lions.
Wilson was a second round pick out of the University of Illinois in the 2012 NFL Draft, when he was selected by the New England Patriots.

One team who is expected to be very active in free agency is the Detroit Lions, who have plenty of holes to fill on their roster if they want to contend in 2018. According to reports, Lions general manager Bob Quinn was very interested in former All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman, who had just been released by the Seattle Seahawks but Sherman ended up signing a three-year, $39 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
Now, a report has surfaced that Quinn and the Lions are “quite interested” in another big name cornerback.
