It certainly didn’t take long for the NFL to officially christen Lions first-round linebacker Jarrad Davis. It was just announced that Davis picked up a fine for his exquisite WWE-level body slam of Arizona Cardinals tight end Jermaine Gresham.

The fine is *only* $9,115 of Davis’ $465,000 base salary this year, but he’ll probably be looking to avoid any more hits to his wallet.
As far Davis’ actual performance, he looked good on the stat sheet racking up nine tackles in his debut but graded out as the second worst linebacker on Pro Football Focus.
Yes, #Lions rookie LB Jarrad Davis had a good looking stat sheet, but PFF graded him out at 32.5 overall.

All in all, it wasn’t a bad day for Davis or the Lions defense as a whole, as they were able to hold Arizona to just 17 offensive points forcing three turnovers in the process.
