According to a report from MLive, a redshirt freshman cornerback from the University of Michigan football team was arrested on Saturday.

The report states that Nate Johnson was arrested this past weekend on the Michigan campus for allegedly attacking a female student.

From MLive:

Diane Brown, spokesperson for the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security, told MLive on Monday that Johnson, 19, was arrested on campus in the early morning hours of Saturday for an attack on a female student.

Details of the incident were not immediately clear, but the alleged victim was located at a dorm room on campus, Brown said.

Johnson was charged with one count of domestic assault and later released on a personal recognizance bond. He has a pre-trial date scheduled for Oct. 11.

On Saturday, the Michigan Athletic Department released a statement indicating that Johnson had been suspended indefinitely.

Here is the statement:

“Student Nate Johnson has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities.”

Through four games, Johnson had not yet played a down for the Wolverines this season.
