BREAKING: Multiple Detroit Tigers to see Dallas Cowboys team physician, could miss extended time

According to Ron Gardenhire, both SS Jordy Mercer and 2B Josh Harrison of the Detroit Tigers will visit Dallas Cowboys team physician Dr. Daniel Cooper on Monday to receive second opinions on their injury diagnosis.

Mercer (right quad strain) and Harrison (Grade 2 left hamstring strain) are both currently on the 10-day injured list.

Both Mercer and Harrison were signed in the offseason with the hopes they would bridge the gap until some of the Tigers’ younger infielders in the minor leagues were ready for the show. Unfortunately, both players have suffered injuries and when they have played, they have not been good.

So far in 2019, Mercer is batting .206 with one home run and three RBIs in 19 games while Harrison is batting .219 with one home run and eight RBIs in 36 games.
