Burton was drafted by the Lions in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft. During his time in Detroit, the fullback played in a total of 31 games. In those games, Burton had a total of two rushing yards to go along with 39 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The move by Lions GM Bob Quinn hints that the Lions are content on continuing to roll with a single back set.
