After months of anticipation, “The Money Fight” between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is over.
That's it. Floyd Mayweather has defeated Conor McGregor by technical knockout in the 10th round.

Visibly wobbly after a few exchanges that were decidedly pro-Mayweather, McGregor found himself against the ropes and on the wrong end of another flurry from Mayweather, which led to the referee calling for an end to the bout with 1:55 remaining in the 10th round.
Before the fight, Mayweather said that there was no chance that the fight would end up going the distance, and he delivered on that promise.
“I gave the fans what they wanted to see,” Mayweather said after the fight. “I told them that I owed them for the Pacquiao fight. I must come straight ahead and give them a show.”
The build-up for this particular fight was unlike any other build-up we have seen for a fight before. The pre-cursor included a four-city world tour to promote the fight, in which both Mayweather and McGregor scored massive points with their respective fan bases after their profanity-laced bouts of trash talking. Stops along the way included Los Angeles, New York City, Toronto, and London.

One of the more controversial story lines leading up to the bout included when former welterweight and light welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi agreed to spar McGregor to prepare for the fight. After a controversial picture/video surfaced showing Malignaggi falling after an apparent knockdown at the hands of McGregor, Malignaggi removed himself from any further communication with McGregor's camp. Malignaggi claimed that the so-called knockdown was actually a result of a push from McGregor.

After improving his record to an unblemished 50-0, Mayweather said that this was without a doubt the last time he steps into a boxing ring as a competitor.
ESPN's Darren Rovell projected that the total revenue created from this fight would eclipse $606 million, but the actual numbers will become more evident in the coming days.
