The 2020 NFL Draft will be held in Las Vegas.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced today that Las Vegas has been selected to host the 2020 draft. The decision on the 2020 NFL Draft comes nearly a year and a half after the league approved the relocation of the Oakland Raiders to Vegas.

Las Vegas will be the fifth different city to host the NFL draft since 2016. Chicago kicked things off by hosting the draft in 2015 and 2016. The draft then moved to Philadelphia in 2017, while the 2018 draft was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The 2019 draft will be hosted in Nashville.

NFL salary cap to increase in 2019

Another new year, another increase to the NFL salary cap.

The NFL announced on Tuesday that the salary cap is projected to increase to somewhere between an estimated $187 million and $191.1 million for the 2019 season. The NFL salary cap this season was set at $177.2 million, which means that the salary cap is expected to increase by at least $10 million.

2019 will be the sixth straight year that the salary cap is projected to increase by $10 million or more. Since 2014 when it was set at $133 million, the NFL salary cap has increased by roughly $54 million based on the 2019 projection.

If you go back even farther to 2004, the NFL salary cap will have increased by more that $100 million over the past 15 years.

According to spotrac’s NFL Team Salary Cap Tracker, the Indianapolis Colts are projected to have the most cap space to work within the 2019 offseason with the New York Jets coming in just behind them.

The Detroit Lions are projected to have just under $40 million of available funds, which is the 16th most cap space and just below the approximately $42.7 million league average.
