The Red Wings have made a move in acquiring Marek Zidlicky from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 2016 3rd round pick. The pick becomes a 2nd round pick if Detroit reaches the Stanley Cup Final. If the Wings make the Eastern Conference Finals, New Jersey also receives a 2015 5th round pick. Zidlicky is 38 years old and is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He is a right handed shot who can quarterback a power play.

So that's Cole and Zidlicky for 2 draft picks, Janmark and Backman. OK.

He will definitely help the Wings break out of their own zone with good, clean passes and also add some much needed offense to the blue line. This ends the ‘Dion Phaneuf to Detroit’ trade rumors.

It looks like the Red Wings got their puck-moving righty in Zidlicky for a conditional 3rd rd pick. Zidlicky should fit into Wings' system.

Zidlicky had full no-move. Was willing to waive it for Cup contender. Shows what he thinks of Detroit.
