The Detroit Red Wings have sent forward Thomas Vanek to the Florida Panthers.
FLA gives up Dylan McIlrath and a third round pick to DET for Thomas Vanek. DET retains 50 per cent of salary.

The 3rd-round pick in Vanek deal goes from Panthers 3rd to Arizona's 3rd if the Panthers make the playoffs.

In return, Detroit gets a 3rd round pick and a prospect, which seems like a steal for the Panthers. If this is all Detroit got for Vanek, Holland will get skewered by fans. More to come as this deal is just now breaking and the trade call has not gone through yet.
