The Detroit Red Wings have traded forward Tomas Jurco to the Chicago Blackhawks. In return for Jurco, the Wings receive a 3rd round pick from Chicago in the 2017 NHL Draft.
Tomas Jurco has been a healthy scratch often this season. The #Blackhawks have turned similar players (Handzus, Panik) into contributors.

Jurco has barely seen the ice this season, as he's been a healthy scratch on most nights.
Blackhawks have been focused on Jurco for the past six weeks. Was the guy they wanted.

He's played only 16 games and has 0 goals and 0 assists and is a -8.
Ken Holland on Tomas Jurco to CHI: "Things haven't worked out. He wanted to be elsewhere." Jurco RFA this summer, wasn't going to stay.

Jurco has 15 goals and 24 assists in his 159 game NHL career. The move has to be considered a win for Ken Holland and his staff, who knew they were going to lose Jurco this summer anyways. However, if Jurco can produce in Chicago, the critics will be out in full force on the way Holland and coach Jeff Blashill chose to use him.
