Michigan fans can finally exhale. Bryce Underwood is running it back in Ann Arbor.
On Monday, the Wolverines’ star freshman quarterback officially announced that he will return to Michigan for the 2026 season, ending weeks of speculation about his future following a turbulent offseason for the program.
Underwood, who arrived as the nation’s top-ranked freshman signal-caller, did not quite live up to the hype. He threw for 2,428 yards and 11 touchdowns while adding 392 rushing yards and six more scores on the ground, showcasing the dual-threat ability that made him one of the most coveted recruits in the country.

Underwood’s return now gives Whittingham a true franchise cornerstone to build around.
