Buckle up Lions fans, the next 3 weeks may be hazardous to your health

Week 15 @ New York Giants (9-4)

The New York Giants are the scariest matchup in these next three weeks, save for the Packers–assuming it all comes down to week 17. For starters, they are the only team that has defeated the Dallas Cowboys this season, a team that has surprised many with the play of their two outstanding rookies on offense, Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott. Both of which were made to look actually human this past week on Sunday Night Football. The Giants come into the matchup with the 25th ranked offense in scoring (19.6 ppg), 27th in yards per game (322.2), 16th in pass yards (243.5), and 31st in rushing yards per game (78.7). But don’t let the stats fool you, they can be very explosive on offense. With weapons like Odell Beckham Jr stretching the field, it can cause problems for the Lions secondary, if we fail to get pressure on Eli Manning, their offense can go off.

Aside from their offense, the Giants focused on building their defense up in the off-season, and so far it has paid off. With the additions of Eli Apple through the draft, re-signing Jason Pierre-Paul, and Janoris Jenkins and Oliver Vernon through free agency, they have turned in a 14th ranked defense, according to NFL.com. They relinquish 18.8 points per game, surrender 349.3 yards per game, and have created a mere 36% third down conversion rate for opponents. The Lions will have to play as well as they did against the Saints, if not better, to bring this one home in the win column.
