CBS Sports suggests Detroit Lions make trade involving WR Marvin Jones Jr.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. has seen his name pop up in trade rumors as he’s entered the final year of a five year contract he signed in 2016. With Kenny Golladay in need of a new contract, Jones could find himself a casualty of the team’s salary cap restraints.

And now, CBS Sports has put forward the latest proposal involving Jones, which would see him head out east.

The proposal? Jones being sent to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Baltimore’s 2021 sixth-round draft pick and 2022 seventh-round pick.

Check out the reasoning below:

“The Lions can’t really expect much more for Jones at this point in his career, but the Ravens can certainly afford to surrender a few late-rounders if it means giving Lamar Jackson someone other than Marquise Brown as an option out wide. When you’re run-based and have Lamar Jackson, Willie Snead and Devin Duvernay and Miles Boykin will pass. But Baltimore is aiming for a title. Does Jones bring that closer? Not by much, if at all. But the gamble is worth it if he can be even a fraction of his old self amid new scenery.”

Should the Lions not be able to come to terms with Jones on a new deal prior to this year’s NFL Trade Deadline, is this a move you’d like to see them make?

Survey reveals which NFL fan base complains the most, and it’s not the Lions

It’s a broken record for all of us who are fans of the Detroit Lions at this point. One playoff win in 60 years, incompetent Ford family ownership, driving away franchise players, etc. The list is seemingly endless.

So it would certainly make sense for Lions fans to have plenty to complain about given their long history of suffering watching their team on Sunday.

However, according to a recent survey, the Lions fan base isn’t the NFL fan base that complains the most. In fact, they didn’t even make the top ten.

5,000 fans were surveyed by Mibets.com, and revealed that it is in fact the Dallas Cowboys fan base who complains more than any other. Dallas was followed by the Patriots, Bills, Bears and Eagles.

Where did the Lions end up? 15th.

Marvin Jones Jr.

There will certainly be plenty of people who disagree with Detroit’s placing on that list, considering their team history.
