Chelsea F.C. had themselves a very successful 2016-2017 campaign in the English Premier League. They finished first in the league and won their first EPL title since 2014-2015 and have the chance to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2011-2012 this Saturday. Despite the grand accomplishments of Chelsea this year, they made a decision this past Wednesday in light of a mjor tragedy that still is affecting the entire world.
After a terrorist attack that took the lives of 22 people in Manchester, England during an Ariana Grande concert, the Blues decided to cancel their EPL Championship parade. Below is their statement regarding the decision to cancel the celebration.

Everyone associated with Chelsea Football Club offers our heartfelt condolences to those affected by Monday’s attack in Manchester. Our thoughts go out to all the victims and their families and friends.
In light of these tragic events, we feel it is inappropriate to go ahead with the victory parade in London on Sunday.
Given the heightened security threat announced by the government, and recognising that this is a developing situation, we have given this careful consideration.
We strongly believe, in the interests of everyone, that this is the correct course of action. We are sure our fans will understand this decision.
Chelsea also shared a moment along with many other EPL teams in observing a moment of silence for those who were lost in the heinous attack.

The celebration would’ve been momentous if the FA Cup result would’ve gone in the Blues favor. Regardless of what-if scenarios, it is surely the right decision by Chelsea to cancel their Championship celebration.
