Xanders joined the Lions after working as General Manager for the Denver Broncos from 2009-2012. His role with Detroit was categorized by Pride of Detroit as “According to the team website, since joining the team, Xanders has been working ‘with all areas of the club’s player personnel department, including college scouting, pro personnel, advance scouting, coaching research/analytics and football information systems development.'”.

Speculation is that Xanders will not be out of a job for too long, especially with front offices changing rapidly after the 2017 NFL Draft.
