Chris Webber has bold prediction for Juwan Howard, Michigan basketball program

This coming weekend, Chris Webber will officially be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Webber, of course, was a member of the Fab Five at Michigan in the early 1990s along with Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Ray Jackson, and Jimmy King.

Webber said that though the Fab Five have gone their separate ways, they have stayed in touch and they all support each other and their dreams.

When it comes to Howard, who is now the head basketball coach at Michigan, his goal is to do something he and his Fab Five teammates came just short of doing, win an NCAA Championship with the Wolverines.

During a recent interview with The Athletic, Webber made a bold prediction for Howard and the Michigan basketball program.

From The Athletic:

“That’s my guy from Day 1. I’m not going to blame him, but when I left Golden State, I went to the worst team in the world to go play with a friend, and his name was Juwan. (Laughs.) We played together for a few years. Just think about it, if we all come back, we do all of this, and then Juwan is not there and he doesn’t have success and it’s not about him, then it really doesn’t matter. Whichever one of us would have that job or anything that any of us do — whether it’s Jalen on TV, Ray and his philanthropic efforts, Jimmy and his finances efforts. We support each other. It starts with Juwan being a leader there and him setting the tone, which is what he’s done. I’m excited. I’m excited that we’re supporting him while he’s chasing his dream. I would love for us to have everything, from retirement banners to all of that great stuff. But I feel good right now that they have a hell of a leader. I think all those things come in due time, but I’m sure he’s got work to do getting his guys ready because he’s going to get that championship that we didn’t. Oh, wait, did I say that? Did I put that pressure on him? Oh, well, he can handle it.”

Nation, do you agree with Webber that Howard will lead the Wolverines to a National Championship?
