Filling in as a starter towards the end of the 2019-20 NBA season, Detroit Pistons forward Christian Wood proved to the world that he can be a productive player given the opportunity.
Unfortunately (for us) the 21.9 points and 9.4 rebounds that Wood averaged in his 12 starts at the end of the season was enough to drive his value to a point that new Pistons GM Troy Weaver was not willing to pay.
Instead, Wood is now a member of the Houston Rockets as part of a sign-and-trade deal.
Late Tuesday night, Wood took to Twitter to thank the Detroit Pistons, their fans, and head coach Dwane Casey.
I loved my time playing for the @DetroitPistons and their fans, and will always cherish the opportunity that Coach Casey gave me. Thank you, Detroit!

Best of luck, Christian!
