The Detroit Lions have a new offensive coordinator and his name is Ben Johnson.
Johnson served as the Lions' tight ends coach before also becoming the defacto pass game coordinator when head coach Dan Campbell took over the play-calling duties from Anthony Lynn.
On Wednesday, Cincinnati Bengals HC Zac Taylor spoke to reporters, and he threw praise at Johnson, admitting that he has tried to hire him “many, many, many times.”
“I've tried to hire Ben many, many, many times. He always just gets promoted to where I can't get him. Dan knows that. I've always just tried to find a place for him on staff, whether it's offense, defense, special (teams), it doesn't matter. He's one of those guys you want on your staff because he's brilliant.”
Below are the rest of Taylor's comments about Johnson.
