Confirmed: Steve Yzerman to sign first defenseman since taking over as Red Wings’ GM

According to reports, Steve Yzerman will sign his first defenseman since taking over as general manager of the Detroit Red Wings.

The Detroit News is reporting that the Red Wings will sign Finnish defenseman, Oliwer Kaski at the conclusion of the World Championships.

Kaski, who played college hockey for Western Michigan University, scored 19 goals and dished out 32 assists this past season with Liiga.
