It must be December because the Jim Harbaugh reports/rumors are flowing like honey.
Earlier today, we passed along a rumor that Harbaugh is expected to sign a contract extension with Michigan, possibly as early as this coming week.
Now, a conflicting report has surfaced that Harbaugh is eyeing a return to the NFL.
From Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:
At Michigan, Harbaugh has lasted six years. There’s a growing belief that he won’t be back for a seventh season, perhaps choosing to walk away before they make him run. Per multiple sources, Harbaugh is believed to be eyeing a return to the NFL, as a head coach.
Another source said that teams are doing their homework on Harbaugh, who instantly took the 49ers to the NFC Championship and who nearly led the team to a Super Bowl win in his second season with the team.
At this point, we are sticking with our own sources that say Harbaugh will sign an extension with the Wolverines, but only he knows for sure what he will do.
Nation, how do you think this plays out?
