Could Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman be working on a trade for Torey Krug?

Over the past couple of months, there have been plenty of rumors floating around that link Boston Bruins D Torey Krug to the Detroit Red Wings.

Now, according to a report, the Bruins could be looking to trade Krug’s rights and the Red Wings have been mentioned (again) as a potential suitor, along with Colorado, Florida, and Vegas.

Though I would love to see Krug in a Red Wings’ sweater, it seems unlikely that GM Steve Yzerman would make a move like this, especially after he just traded for former New York Rangers defenseman, Marc Staal.

That being said, Yzerman is crafty and nobody knows what he will pull out of his sleeve next.

  1. I wouldn’t mind Krug in a Wings uniform. If anything, he could add some physicality to Detroit’s D.

Though I’ve said it a million times, soft defense makes soft teams. Soft teams get pushed around, and while everyone seems focused on bolstering their forward line, I think our focus should be on adding some size and talent to our D.
