Rumor: Could silence mean big things for Tigers in Cespedes market?

With Spring Training set to being in just over a month, one of the top free agents, Yoenis Cespedes, still has not found a home. The former Detroit Tigers outfielder had a monster season in 2015, hitting .291 with 35 HR and 105 RBI between time with the Tigers and New York Mets.

Since making moves to rebuild the bullpen and strengthen the starting rotation, the Tigers were said to be out of the market on Cespedes. Signing Cespedes would put the Tigers over the luxury tax limit, and it was unclear if the Tigers were really interested in going in that direction despite owner Mike Ilitch saying he would be okay with it. There is reason to believe that the Tigers are back in on the Cespedes market though. Tony Paul of The Detroit News tweeted out a very interesting thought from sources within the Tigers organization.

Paul continued to give reasoning why the Tigers may indeed be back in on the Cespedes market.

As it stands, there are multiple teams in on Cespedes, and he is looking to get a big pay day. With Spring Training fast approaching, Cespedes may pick a team sooner rather than later. Buckle your seat belts, things may heat up fast!
