With the 2020 NFL trade deadline quickly approaching, the Detroit Lions, who moved to 3-3 following a miraculous win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7, will have to decide if they are going to be buyers, sellers, or if they are just going to roll with what they have.

If the Lions can beat the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, I truly believe they will attempt to add a player or two before the deadline passes.
One area in which the Lions could certainly use a boost is their pass rush.
Getting to opposing quarterbacks has been a major problem for the Lions and if they truly want to contend for a playoff spot, which will mean winning some tough games at the end of the season, they will have to make an upgrade to their defense.
One player who may (or may not) be available is Dallas Cowboys DE Everson Griffen.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys have ‘made it known’ that Griffen is available in a trade, while Josina Anderson said she talked to Griffen about the reported trade rumor and he said he had not heard anything about a trade. Anderson also added that though teams have inquired about Griffen, the Cowboys are not officially shopping him.
This is an interesting one: The #Cowboys have made it known that DE Everson Griffen is available in a trade, source says. About half of his $6M salary is left for a team looking for edge help. Makes sense with Dallas’ record.

Just got off the phone w/ #Cowboys DE Everson Griffen regarding new report he's available in a trade: "I don't think the #Cowboys want to trade me. I haven't heard that." Meanwhile, I'm also told via source, "(The team hasn't) shopped him officially. People have asked about him."

Griffen is a player that I begged for the Lions to sign prior to the start of the season, as I believed he could give their pass rush the boost it needed after an abysmal 2019 campaign.
But what do the Lions have that would get the attention of Jerry Jones and the Cowboys?
Well, after Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending ankle injury, there were reports that Jones tried to poach Lions third-string quarterback (and the magician on the team), David Blough.

Now, I am not going to pretend that I have any idea what Jerry Jones’ asking price for Griffen would be (if he is available), but I would doubt it would be much more than a fifth or sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Remember, this is not the Everson Griffen of 2017 when he racked up 13 sacks in 15 games, but he still has enough gas left in the tank to help out a needy Lions team.
That being said, if Jones truly does have an interest in adding Blough to his roster, he could be willing to part ways with Griffen, who is still owed north of $3 million for the remainder of the season.
Nation, if Lions GM Bob Quinn floats Blough in a trade offer to the Cowboys, do you think Jerry Jones will bite?
