Could the Detroit Lions end up with Tua Tagovailoa as their QB for 2021

If Matthew Stafford gets his way, he will not be the starting quarterback for the Detroit Lions before the 2021 season rolls around.

On Saturday, news broke that Stafford has requested a trade and the Lions are reportedly going to do what they can to accommodate him, as long as they can get “fair market value” in return.

The question now is, which team will make the Lions an offer that they cannot refuse? Well, how about the Lions make a deal with the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Tua Tagovailoa and a pair of second-round draft picks?

That is one trade potential trade scenario that Justin Rogers of The Detroit News suggested in his most rent article.

The Dolphins are apparently hot to trot for Watson, and who could blame them? But if they can't pull off that blockbuster, Stafford wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize.

In exchange, the Lions could probably pull back Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback they passed on in favor of cornerback Jeff Okudah in last year's draft.

► Asking price: Tagovailoa and one of Miami's two second-round picks in 2021.

Nation, if this offer was on the table for Stafford, should the Lions jump at it?
