The 2022 NFL Trade Deadline will come and go on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, and the hope prior to the season was that the Detroit Lions would have put themselves in a position to be buyers. As we know, the Lions are off to a 1-6 start, and if general manager Brad Holmes does decide to make a deadline trade, it will almost certainly be sending a veteran to a contender. There has recently been some chatter on other blogs that suggest LT Taylor Decker is a player the Lions could move at the deadline.
Could Taylor Decker be traded by Detroit Lions before today’s deadline?

Is Taylor Decker, who is 29, getting up there in age a bit? Sure, but he still has plenty of productive years in front of him. That being said, he is still a big part of what the Lions are trying to do, and trading him, probably for a second-round pick (don’t listen to anyone who says they could get a first-round pick for him) makes little to no sense.
In addition, the Lions recently restructured Decker’s contract, which means it would be a financial disaster for them to trade him, even IF he were to bring back a first-round pick.
There are a few Lions who could be traded before today’s deadline (Click here to see who), but Decker is not one of those players.
