Dan Campbell: Early expectations from Hard Knocks not in his control

Leading up to the 2022 NFL season, our Detroit Lions were featured on HBO's Hard Knocks and not surprisingly, there was a huge focus on head coach, Dan Campbell.

As the weeks of training camp went by, and the episodes of Hard Knocks aired each Tuesday night, the expectations for the Lions just continued to grow.

In fact, there were plenty of people, including myself, who believed that if the Lions could stay healthy, they could contend for a wild-card spot in the playoffs.

What did Dan Campbell say about early expectations from Hard Knocks?

Fast forward to the present and the Lions are currently sitting at 1-4 with a road matchup against the Dallas Cowboys staring them straight in the face.

On Friday, Dan Campbell spoke to reporters and he responded to a question about the early expectations from Hard Knocks.

“Look, none of that's in my control,” Campbell told reporters. “I knew where we were last year, I know where we're at right now and I know where we're gonna be. I know this, we should have more wins than we have right now. I do believe that.
