With the Detroit Lions trailing the Cleveland Browns 13-7 late in the fourth quarter, Dan Campbell elected to go for a field goal to cut the Browns lead to three rather than going for a first down with the hopes of scoring a TD.
As soon as the decision was made, plenty of Lions fans took to Twitter to bash Campbell to being too conservative with his call.
Following the game, Campbell spoke to the media and explained that he told himself before the game to “be smart” and that is why he did what he did.
Nation, do you accept this?
