According to reports, rookie Jermar Jefferson has separated himself a bit as the lead contender to grab the RB3 spot for the Detroit Lions heading into the 2021 season.
Unfortunately, Jefferson suffered an ankle injury on Monday and he was forced to leave practice early.
Some speculated that the injury could be the dreaded high-ankle sprain but according to Lions head coach Dan Campbell, that is not that case.
Campbell spoke to the media prior to Tuesday’s practice in Allen Park and he said that Jefferson’s injury appears to be a low ankle sprain and that it does not look to be too serious.
Jefferson will sit out of Tuesday’s practice and there is no word yet as to whether he will be available for the Lions first preseason game this coming Friday against the Buffalo Bills.
