With the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions selected EDGE Aidan Hutchinson out of Michigan and most Lions fans celebrated.
Heading into the draft, most said that Hutchinson was the “perfect fit” for the Lions and that he would fit right in with the culture that head coach Dan Campbell and GM Brad Holmes have been trying to establish.
On Saturday, prior to the Lions' rookie minicamp, Campbell spoke to the media and he said Hutchinson being a Lion was “meant to be.”

“He's a perfect fit for us,” Campbell said. “I mean he really is everything we're about. He matches us perfectly and I've said this before but, it just so happened to be that he was in the backyard. It wasn't because of that but that's icing on the cake that he was right down the road. I just feel like it was meant to be. He belongs here. You know, when you're gonna pick guys, particularly that high, they better fit everything that you're about and he does that.
