Over 60 years ago, the Detroit Lions were the pride of the state after they beat the Cleveland Browns to win the NFL Championship.
Fast forward to the present and the Lions have managed to win just a single playoff game since then.
Though that seems almost impossible, it’s true as Lions’ fans have suffered year after year hoping and praying for a winner.
Well, a new era has begun as the Lions have hired a new general manager (Brad Holmes) and head coach (Dan Campbell) to get the pride going back in the right direction.
Campbell, who is a former Lions’ player, joined former Lion Nate Burleson on Good Morning Football on Friday and he said the city is “dying for a winner.”
“They are just dying for a winner man, they’re just dying for it,” Campbell told Burleson. “And if you can just give them one, they’ll love you forever and it will unite a community.”
Nation, do you think Campbell will be able to help bring a championship to the city of Detroit?
It was AWESOME having @Lions new HC Dan Campbell on #GMFB today!
He talks about what it means to rep Detroit, what he will bring to Motown, his favorite @Metallica album, and so much more!
