The Detroit Lions have just over 24 hours to trim their current roster of 80 players down to 53 players and head coach Dan Campbell and GM Brad Holmes have some very tough decisions to make.
On Monday, Campbell spoke to reporters and he said that he does not have anything new to add to what he said on Sunday following the Lions’ 19-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He said that he was in the process of meeting with Brad Holmes as they continue to work through the process.
Campbell did say that he and Holmes know what Godwin Igwebuike brings to the table as a kick returner.
On Godwin Igwebuike as kick returner: We know what he can do. We know what we have in Godwin.

Dan Campbell talks about acquiring a new backup QB
In terms of the backup QB battle, Campbell said they’re wrestling with the backup QB situation to know if that guy can win games but if they look at any outside guys they want to know “whoever is out there, you’ve got to know it’s a clear upgrade. Because if not, why would you do it?”
