Dan Campbell to CBS Crew: ‘If You Took Your Jackets Off, You’d Be Gritty’ [Video]

Before today's highly anticipated game at Ford Field between the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills, Lions head coach Dan Campbell brought his trademark humor and gritty personality to a pre-game chat with the CBS crew. While Campbell was comfortably indoors at the stadium, the CBS team, including former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher, was braving the cold rain outside for their broadcast.

During the conversation, Cowher asked Campbell if he and the crew were showing their “gritty” side by enduring the harsh weather conditions. Without missing a beat, Campbell fired back with a laugh: “You guys are all wearing jackets. If you took your jackets off, you'd be gritty.”

The playful jab had everyone laughing, and it was a perfect example of Campbell’s unique approach to coaching and his infectious personality. He’s built a culture of toughness and grit with the Lions, and today’s comment was a reminder of just how well that attitude resonates, even off the field.

Check out the full exchange in the video, and see why Campbell continues to be a fan favorite for his humor, authenticity, and gritty spirit!
