The Detroit Lions currently hold the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and they will have a big decision to make when they are on the clock.
At this point, Matthew Stafford is still the quarterback of the Lions and I expect it will stay that way…at least until his contract is up.
Earlier this week, NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his first mock draft of the year and he believes the Lions will pass on Ohio State QB Justin Fields when they are on the clock at No. 7.
Instead, Jeremiah has the Lions selecting Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith (WR) out of Alabama.
Here is what Jeremiah has to about the pick.
Here is how Jeremiah believes the Top 10 picks will pan out.
- Jacksonville Jaguars – QB Trevor Lawrence
- New York Jets – QB Zach Wilson
- Miami Dolphins – WR Ja’Marr Chase
- Atlanta Falcons – QB Trey Lance
- Cincinnati Bengals – OL Rashawn Sewell
- Philadelphia Eagles – CB Patrick Surtain
- Detroit Lions – WR Da’Vonta Smith
- Carolina Panthers – QB Justin Fields
- Denver Broncos – CB Caleb Farley
- Dallas Cowboys – Penei Sewell
Nation, if the 2021 NFL Draft board plays out like this, would you be happy with the Lions taking Da’Vonta Smith at No. 7? If not, what would you do?
