Earlier this morning, the Detroit Tigers announced they had released RHP Mike Pelfrey, in turn trimming their roster down to 28-players. Now there are reports that LHP Daniel Stumpf has told reporters he is being placed on waivers.
LHP Daniel Stumpf says he's been placed on waivers. If unclaimed, he would become free agent and could sign anywhere, including Tigers.

Since Stumpf was taken in the Rule 5 Draft twice, he will have the option of becoming a free agent if he is not claimed off waivers.
In 2016, the 26-year-old appeared in just seven games for the Phillies before receiving an 80-game suspension from Major League Baseball for testing positive for a PED.
