There is no question about it that Pro Bowl CB Darius Slay is one of the best (if not THE best) players on the Detroit Lions.
But the question is, will he be a Lion for much longer?

You see, Slay is heading into the final year of his contract and he has made it clear that he wants a long-term contract extension before the 2020 season begins.
According to reports, Slay’s representatives and the Lions have been negotiating an extension but as of now, nothing has gotten finalized.
That could be because Slay is demanding the moon from the Lions and GM Bob Quinn is not willing to pay up.
On Wednesday, a fan on Twitter suggested what he believes would be a reasonable offer for the Lions to make but it looks like Slay does not agree.
Check it out.
The suggestion made by Jared Heatley suggests Slay should get around $13.5 million per season from the Lions with another $1M-$2M per season in available incentives.
$13.5 million per season, according to Spotrac, would make Slay the 8th highest paid CB in the NFL, tied with Kyle Fuller of the Chicago Bears.
Nation, Slay’s thumbs down response to the tweet above suggests he is looking to break the bank on his next contract and to be honest, I do not blame him one bit as it will be his last chance to sign a huge deal.
