It’s been a rough season for Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions. Not only do the Lions sit at 5-10 with just one game remaining on their schedule, but Stafford has suffered multiple injuries that have caused him to miss time.
Already dealing with a partially torn ligament in his thumb and damage to his rib cartilage, Stafford sprained his ankle in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The injury forced Stafford to miss the remainder of the game, which the Lions ended up losing 47-7, and the question that immediately was asked by everyone was whether or not Stafford should be shut down for the remainder of the season.
On Monday, the Lions’ interim head coach Darrell Bevell spoke to the media and said they will continue to monitor Stafford’s health leading up to Sunday’s game vs. the Vikings.
