Former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell was promoted to interim head coach following the November dismissal of Matt Patricia, and held that title for the final five games of the 2020 campaign.
Following the conclusion of Detroit's season, he was among several candidates who interviewed for the head coaching position, and soon admitted to feeling some frustration with the waiting process regarding whom the team would ultimately decide on.
That position has now been filled, as Dan Campbell is the new boss of the Motor City's football team. And now, Bevell is reportedly on the verge of landing employment with a new franchise.
Per reports, Bevell has been spending time in Jacksonville and is on the verge of being named the team's new offensive coordinator:
The #Jaguars are expected to hire Darrell Bevell as their offensive coordinator, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. Several teams made a push to hire Bevell, who finished last season as the #Lions' interim coach, but it looks like he'll land with Urban Meyer.

The Jaguars already have a new head coach in Urban Meyer, and could soon have quarterback Trevor Lawrence under center. How well would Bevell and Lawrence work together in Jacksonville?
