“Well, I mean he’s definitely involved in the conversation, yes,” Bevell said, referring to Wood.
Additionally, Bevell said that he speaks with a committee comprised of Rob Lohman, Kyle O’Brien, Lance Newmark, Mike Disner in addition to Wood regarding roster decisions.
Among the decisions that have been made since Bevell’s elevation to the interim head coaching role was the waiving of receiver Marvin Hall, who has since landed with the Cleveland Browns.
Bevell offered little in terms of an explanation for the decision to waive Hall:
“Marvin’s a guy that I really enjoyed having on our team,” he explained. “He’s a guy that I have a lot of respect for,” Bevell said. “He’s made some big plays for us. There’s a lot that goes into it — in terms of roster spots — and more than just play on the field. We just made a decision to move on.”
