It’s easy to remember Darren McCarty as one of the central figures in the legendary rivalry between the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche, having dropped the mitts several times against notable names who donned the Avs sweater.
However, one name that doesn’t immediately come to mind is Matthew Barnaby, a former professional agitator that appeared in a mere 13 games with Colorado in 2003-04.
No matter – McCarty still taught him a lesson anyway.
