Darryl Strawberry admits to doing WHAT between innings?! (No it’s not that)

If you’re over the age of 30, or have a good grip on baseball history, you know who Darryl Strawberry is, and you know about his plight as a professional baseball player.  If you are under the age of 30, let me break it down for you. Darryl Strawberry was a great baseball player who endured a 17-year career. He was the National League Rookie of the Year, as well as an 8-time All-Star (all in his first nine years), and even finished 2nd and 3rd in MVP voting.

He also had a very long and very well-documented cocaine problem that saw him use rehab as a turnstile door. That habit, that he kicked and reignited multiple times over, held him to no more than 63 games in a season from 1992-1997. But THAT is not what the great Strawberry just admitted to.

This is.

That’s right folks, according to Yahoo! Sports, in an upcoming interview with Dr. Oz that airs today, Strawberry says he was so obsessed with sex that he used to have it during games, between innings, in the clubhouse.

“It was a pretty crazy lifestyle. Middle of games? Yeah,” Strawberry told Dr. Oz. “I would go between innings, and stuff like that and run back and have a little party going on. I thought it was pretty cool. That’s the addiction.”

As far as his teammates are concerned, you’re probably wondering if they knew or not.

“Some of them covered for me,” he said.

Now THAT is a trustworthy teammate right there. Someone you definitely want in the trenches with you when the going gets tough. Not so much Strawberry, he’d be in another trench doing God-knows-what with God-knows-who, but whoever those guys were that covered for him, my hat’s off to you all.
