On this date, 26 years ago, the Detroit Tigers traded for Mickey Tettleton. Growing up going to Tigers games and watching them on television, Mickey was one of my favorites from that time period, I'm sure many of you as well could say the same.

In four seasons as a Tiger, Mickey collected a .249 batting average, 112 home runs (28/ year avg.), and 333 RBIs. He was a solid catcher and vaunted a peculiar batting stance. One that I'm sure was emulated in many-a-backyards and on sandlots everywhere.
