Dear Detroit Tigers,
As you know, Lou Whitaker has screwed again on Sunday night as he was not elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
In fact, Whitaker only received 6 votes, which was only halfway to the 12 needed to get elected.
Now, it is time for you, the Detroit Tigers organization, to make a bold statement by retiring ‘Sweet’ Lou’s No. 1 immediately.
You know as well as Tigers’ fans know that Lou is not only one of the greatest players to ever wear the Old English ‘D’ but he is one of the best second basemen of all time, period.
By not retiring Lou’s number for so long, you have actually contributed to the reason why he is not already in the Baseball Hall of Fame and it is time you correct your mistake.
So, on behalf of Detroit Tigers fans around the world, I demand that you retire Lou Whitaker’s No. 1 jersey now!
