The NBA Trade Deadline is fast approaching later this week (Feb. 6), and the Detroit Pistons are quickly falling out of playoff contention in the Eastern Conference with a pedestrian 17-33 record.
Former NBA MVP Derrick Rose is enjoying a top-notch season with Detroit, averaging 18.9 PPG with 5.9 APG while shooting a career high 49.9%.
Contending teams have shown interest in acquiring his services, but Rose has made it clear that he doesn't wish to leave the Motor City.
“It’s up to the front office,” said Rose, per Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press. [My agent] Arn [Tellem] gave me his word that if something were to happen, he will text or call, but I told him that I want to stay here, but it’s not up to me. You already know how that goes.”
The Pistons host the Denver Nuggets Sunday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena.
