Second year Michigan State Spartans head coach Mel Tucker has his team sitting pretty at 9-1 and currently ranked No. 7 overall in America. And he’s apparently about to be rewarded handsomely for his successes, which include becoming the first coach in school history to begin their tenure in East Lansing with two straight victories over the Michigan Wolverines.
According to The Detroit Free Press, the contract extension that Michigan State is preparing to offer Tucker is a mammoth 10 year pact worth $95 million, which would be the most in school history for an employee and immediately make him the highest paid coach in the Big Ten, surpassing the $7 million per year deal contract belonging to Penn State’s James Franklin:

The report also states that the expenses of the re-worked deal will be taken care of through private donations from noted alumni Mat Ishbia and Steve St. Andre. Tucker currently makes $5.632 million per year, good for 13th most nationally and fourth most in the Big Ten.
