Detroit City FC international friendly with Manchester, England squad nears

Detroit City FC continues to impress. They have already matched and exceeded the funding to renovate their new home, Keyworth Stadium. To celebrate the new opening for the squad, Le Rouge will be facing off against an international team from Manchester, England.

The opposing team call themselves Football Club United of Manchester and the friendly will take place at Keyworth Stadium on Saturday, May 28th. The match has been in the works since late October of last year and negotiations had been in the works long before that. As stated in the event announcement,, DCFC ownership has long been admirers of the Manchester squad for their “club’s community ownership model and were very keen to host a supporter owned club on their home turf to mark the opening of their refurbished ground.”.

This is yet again exciting news for one of Detroit’s most fascinating success story. This is truly a very exciting time to be a fan of the beautiful game in Michigan.
