Detroit Free Press writer who tweeted homophobic and racist messages blasts Detroit Lions potential HC Dan Campbell for past comment

Sharing is caring!

On Friday, news broke that the Detroit Lions are closing in on hiring New Orleans Saints assistant head coach Dan Campbell to be their next head coach.

Not long after the news broke, Detroit Free Press writer Marlowe Alter decided to write up an article in which he blasts Campbell for a homophobic remark that he made two decades ago.

Now, to be absolutely clear, if the Lions are going to hire Campbell to be their head coach, he absolutely must answer for his past mistake, own it, and make it clear that he has grown personally since that time in his life.

But, what about the author who wrote the piece calling out Campbell?

Thanks to some digging by Pro Sports Extra, we all now know that Marlowe Alter has a disgusting past of tweeting out both homophobic and racist messages and he absolutely must explain himself immediately or be fired.

Here are some of the tweets, courtesy of PSE:

Marlowe, you probably should have let somebody else report that news. We await your response.

  1. Absolutely delicious, oh and to the writer of this article who says Dan needs to answer for what he said about 20 years ago show and show he has grown, Dan apologized back when it happened saying it was in the heat of the moment. How is it, that you people call yourselves journalists and are unable to do research before you put words down?

    • I think he just means that it’s going to get brought up and he’ll need to be ready to answer for it by owning it.

  2. That many different remarks even though it is free speech you Question somebody’s else’s words and to comment? Well not only do you have to reply to everybody you need to tell all to your employer and then they need to explain to how they could hire such a sag of shit to write about sports and athletes. Many are not the same race and if one sues , your employer would have to pay also as they knew ahead of time how you need to grow.
