After starting the season with a 1-6 record, there were some people who were actually ready to fire Detroit Lions head coach, Dan Campbell. Of course, those are probably the same clowns who were pretty loud about how Jared Goff would not make it to 2023 as the Lions' starting QB. Well, the Lions proceeded to win eight of their final 10 games to finish with a 9-8 record in 2022. Unfortunately, nine wins ended up being one game short of earning a berth in the 2022 NFL Playoffs. That being said, most of you will probably be watching the NFL Playoffs so we figured we would help you out in terms of which teams to root for.
Which teams should Detroit Lions fans root for during the Divisional Round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs?
Saturday's NFL Divisional Round games
Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs – 4:30 p.m. ET NBC
In general, when two teams play that I really don't care much about, I will root for the underdog. That being said, I REALLY do not want to see the Jaguars playing for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. Next weekend could be epic with a Chiefs vs. Bills or Chiefs vs. Bengals AFC Championship Game. Root for the Chiefs.
New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles – 8:15 p.m. ET FOX
To me, this game is all about the Darius Slay factor. Slay is one of my favorite Lions defensive players of all time and I would LOVE to see him win a Super Bowl. Plus, the Giants are overrated and nobody wants to see them play in the NFC Championship Game. GO EAGLES!
Sunday's NFL Divisional Round games
Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills – 3:00 p.m. ET CBS
As I said last week during the Wild Card Round, it is going to be very difficult for me to root against the Buffalo Bills during the 2022 NFL Playoffs. After what happened to Damar Hamlin, and all of the positivity that has emerged since then, I am rooting for the Bills over the Bengals!
Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers – 6:30 p.m. FOX
I will NEVER root for the Dallas Cowboys. Period. The End. Jerry Jones is trash and so is his franchise. GO 49ers!!!
Nation, which teams will you be rooting for in the NFL Divisional Round?
